Base Miles Before the Storm
There is supposed to be a big snow storm hitting the north east in the next few days so today was going to be our last nice day to ride for a while. I got the phone call from Rich telling when the ride was and who was going. I showed up to ride and Rich, Mark, Steve, and I started out into the semicold weather, 30 degrees. It was sunny so it felt warm and it was a very enjoyable 48 miles. The only problems were I didn't know we were going to do 48 miles so I was semi-unprepared in the food department. Also, there was a cross wind on the way out and a head wind the whole way home, that may seem wrong but the wind changed because of the up coming storm. It was a fun time and hopefully it won't snow too much and we can do it again soon

Lisa on her 19th birthday
I went to indiana today to go to see my sister and pick up new shoes. We went to the grocery store so I could pick up some chicken to add to the alfredo sauce I was having for dinner tonight, pasta makes you ride good. Lisa showed me around IUP, to her room and to the HUB to eat.

Normal monday
I had to do school work all day today so I could only ride 7 miles on the trainer before I had to get ready for school tomorrow. I tried to do my situps but my abs were really sore. I don't know if I pulled a muscle or something but trying to do a situp sure hurt.

Bad weekend on the bike
Yesterday, february 11, I started my misery early by going outside for my ride in 14 degree weather. This was alright because I was dressed warmly and it was actually warming up a little to around 32 degrees. Then when I was about 2.5 miles from home my chain snapped and left me to use a scootering motion with one leg on the pedal and the other pushing off the whole way home. Then after I got home I found I needed to replace my rear tire. So I went to the bike shop and got a new chain and that was all of the bad stuff from yesterday. Then today after I get home from chrurch it starts to snow a little, but I decide I'm gonna go for a ride any way. Well, I only made it about 2 miles before I got a flat tire. So I fix it and start on my way again and get a second flat. It turns out that I had a small rock imbedded in my tire that caused the both flats. I fixed my tire and took the rock out but then decided to head home because I was out of tire fixing supplies if any thing else should happen. I got home without any further incident and decided to torture myself even more by riding on the trainer in the basement for a while. I did get 40 miles in this weekend which isn't bad for February but they could have been alot nicer miles. I'm still waiting on my Cannondale R5000 to arrive. It is set to be in at the begginging of next month. I currently have only 1852 miles on my specialized and don't want to trade it in until I hit 2000 miles so I better get on the ball next weekend.
